Diploma in Hospitality Services Batch 2 excel in Cooking Contest of the Municipal Government of Aparri

Congratulations to the Diploma in Hospitality Services Batch 2 (DHS-B2) for their outstanding performance at the 2024 Agri-Fishery Day Cooking Contest!

Aparri, Cagayan – The Diploma in Hospitality Services Batch 2 (DHS-B2) under the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (UAQTEA) scholarship program of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) aced the 2024 Agri-Fishery Day, particularly the Cooking Contest of the Municipal Government of Aparri in connection with its 344th Town Fiesta conducted at the Aparri Public Park on May 3, 2024.

      TESDA-Aparri Polytechnic Institute joined the Buchi and Miki cooking categories, which are among the delicacies of the town. Elmo Raciles, championed the Buchi Making, and Stephen Tejada bagged 1st Place in the Miki Niladdit Category; both are students of DHS-B2 in A.P.I.
      Robert C. Revilla, Ph.D., Vocational Instruction Supervisor Designate/Officer-In-Charge, said this shows the prowess of the TESDAns in cooking, and the activity will form part of the great exposure and experiences of A.P.I.’s trainees.

TESDA-A.P.I. inks Memorandum of Agreement with Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-Lal-lo Municipal Jail

Aparri, Cagayan – TESDA-A.P.I. inks MOA with BJMP Widening of networks and linkages with various stakeholders led to the inking of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) entered into by the Aparri Polytechnic Institute (A.P.I.) and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology – Lal-lo Municipal Jail (BJMP-LMJ) on April 22, 2024, at the Aparri Polytechnic Institute’s Executive Conference Room, Aparri, Cagayan.

      During the signing ceremony, SJO4 Mary Noela D. Balao, the Acting Municipal Jail Warden, expressed optimism about the collaboration, highlighting that it will provide PDLs with valuable skills for their post-incarceration livelihood opportunities. She conveyed gratitude for the initiative, emphasizing its potential positive impact on the PDLs’ future.

      A.P.I.’s Acting Administrator, Eduardo L. Escobar, Ph.D., reiterated the institution’s commitment to supporting PDLs by equipping them with skills and hope for a better future. He aligned this commitment with the guiding principle of TESDA’s Secretary Suharto T. Mangudadatu, Ph.D., which focuses on consistent and reliable care and support for individuals seeking vocational and technical education.

      This MOA marks a significant step towards rehabilitating and reintegrating PDLs into society through education and skill-building, underscoring the importance of collaborative efforts between educational institutions and correctional facilities.

Aparri, Cagayan – The TESDA-Aparri Polytechnic Institute (API), under the leadership of its Acting Administrator, Eduardo L. Escobar, Ph.D., and JVV General Precision Machining and Service, Inc., located in Carmona City, Cavite, represented by its General Manager, Mr. Enrique P. Valenzuela, have formally entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The primary goal of this agreement is to enhance the Supervised Industry Learning (SIL) program for learners at the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions. This partnership aims to provide students with practical, hands-on experience in a real-world industrial setting, thereby bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

       This initiative is part of TESDA’s ongoing efforts to empower women through skills development and provide them with opportunities to enhance their livelihoods. The program highlights the commitment to supporting women’s empowerment and underscores the importance of skills training in fostering economic development. 

       Kudos to the local officials, particularly Honorable Mayor Bryan’s leadership and his spouse, Hon. Richelle Chan, who spearheaded the event. Their efforts demonstrate the importance of local government support in empowering women and fostering economic development through skills training.

Nurse Mary Joyce F. Lorenzo’s talk on Mental Health Awareness during the Monday Convocation sets a vital tone for the entire month. Addressing mental health openly and providing education on coping strategies and support resources can have a significant impact on individuals’ overall wellness.

       Zumba Day, sponsored by the Diploma in Hospitality Services Batch 3, adds a lively and energetic component to the festivities. Physical activity, such as Zumba, not only benefits cardiovascular health but also boosts mood and reduces stress. It’s wonderful to see the community coming together to celebrate heart health in such an enjoyable way.

       The “Finding the Lost Heart” activity is both imaginative and heartwarming. By giving participants the opportunity to connect and form new friendships, it fosters a sense of belonging and support within the community. Congratulations to Roi Vincent and Ruby for finding their perfect match and winning the prize.

       Including a Free Movie Day with films exploring love and relationships adds another dimension to the celebration, offering entertainment while encouraging reflection on different aspects of love.
