Meet Messrs. Wansig Lee and Yong Nam Kim, the 2 Korean volunteers who are members of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Overseas Volunteers (KOV). They are assigned at the Regional Training Center in Tuguegarao City and Southern Isabela College of Arts and Trades in Santiago City until January 2021 and will assist in the implementation of the Basic Korean Language and Culture Course.

 

It can be recalled that last year, ARD Demetrio P. Anduyan, Jr. made a request to the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency for the provision of volunteers who shall assist in the various programs conducted by TESDA Region II hence, the 2 volunteers from KOICA.

175 farmers from Raniag, Burgos, Isabela who have completed their Farm Field School Training conducted by the Abarabar Santiago Eco-Friendly Farms and Agro-Environmental Consultancy Services had their Mass Graduation which was held on March 10, 2020. The said activity was graced by TESDA Isabela Provincial Director Igmedio S. Casticon.

CAUAYAN CITY – Naglabas ng memorandum ang TESDA Region 2 kaugnay sa mask production ng kanilang mga paaralan dahil sa patuloy na pagdami ng kaso ng coronavirus disease (COVID-19) sa bansa.

 

Sa naging panayam ng Bombo Radyo Cauayan kay Acting Regional Director Demetrio Anduyan ng TESDA Region 2, sinabi niya na nang malaman niyang patuloy na nadadagdagan ang kaso ng COVID-19 sa bansa ay sinabihan niya ang mga paaralan ng TESDA sa rehiyon na pagtahiin na ng face mask ang kanilang mga estudyante.

 

Aniya, magpapatahi sila ng 9,000 piraso at bawat paaralan ay may 2,000 quota subalit madadagdagan pa ito depende sa magiging sitwasyon.

 

Ang mga tatahiin aniyang face mask ay puwedeng labhan para magtagal.

Ayon kay Anduyan, itatago muna sa mga paaralan ang mga matatahing face mask at maglalabas lamang sila kung may mga LGU’s na mangailangan o di kaya ay ipapadala nila sa kalakhang Maynila.

 

Bukod sa pagpapatahi ng face mask ay nakasaad din sa inilabas na memorandum ng kanilang tanggapan ang mandatory na pag-sanitize bago pumasok sa mga opisina o paaralan gayundin ang iwasan munang makipagkamay o pakikipagbeso-beso, magkaroon ng kaukulang distansya sa pakikitungo sa kanilang mga kliyente, at lahat ng kanilang staff ay mabibigyan ng face mask at alcohol bilang preventive measures.

ASSESSMENT CALIBRATION AND ACCREDITATION OF TESDA REPRESENTATIVES

In compliance to the directive of TESDA Director General, Sec. Isidro S. Lapeña, Ph.D, CSEE to ensure the integrity of assessment and certification, TESDA DOS has started its caravan in the conducted of calibration on assessment and accreditation of TESDA Representatives.

 

The caravan schedule is as follows:
March 4, 2020 – Nueva Vizcaya Polytechnic Institute
March 5, 2020 – Southern Isabela School of Arts and Trades
March 6, 2020 – Regional Training Center – Tuguegarao
March 9, 2020 – Isabela School of Arts and Trades

 

The aim of the caravan is to standardize the assessment activities in the region and to orient TESDA Representatives with regard with their roles during assessment.

TESDA DOS Trainers from the six TESDA Technology Institutions participated in the Training on Publishing A Research Paper held on March 5-6, 2020 at the Isabela State University Main Caplmpus, Echague, Isabela.

 

This is in consonance with the TTI’s journey toward a quality assured TVET by empoweeing the TVET trainers in the region and engaging them in various research activities and innovations.

TESDA DOS Conducts Calibration Session for TESDA Representatives and Focal Persons for Competency Assessment and Certification

Nueva Vizcaya Polytechnic Institute (NVPI) conducted an Outreach/Extension Activity thru Feeding Program at the Child Development Center, Poblacion, Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya in support to the new program of TESDA DOS: the Assistance for the Nourishment of Active Kids (ANAK) of Cagayan Valley which aims to address nutrition gaps among school-children. The institution served Chicken Arozcaldo (from the farm produced organic chicken) and carrot muffins to the 40 pupils of the center.

 

The said activity was headed by the VIS designate, Outreach & Extension Focal, trainers and trainees in partnership with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development of Kasibu and the Barangay Local Government Unit of Poblacion, Kasibu chaired by Mrs. Carmen Balinag (former VSA of NVPI).
