TESDA-RTC Tuguegarao Short Film “ Ginto sa Grasa” features the success story of Reymond E. Ignacio.
Bullied by friends and neighbors, Reymond E. Ignacio, a high school graduate, pursued his dreams of becoming his own boss.

Born and raised by his father who is a bus driver and mother who is a housewife, Reymond is not naive to the harsh clutches of life and poverty. However, he believed that these are challenges to push him further until he succeeded.

Now twenty-six years old, he fondly mused that even when he was still a kid, motorcycles and cars have always fascinated him so much that he decided to study automotive servicing NC II after finishing high school.

His life took a sharp swerve when his parents decided not to send him to college. Despite the disappointment, he worked as a helper technician in his uncle’s automotive shop to earn for a living. Eager to learn more, he studied Automotive Servicing NC II at TESDA-Regional Training Center 02.

Excelling in his field, Reymond was chosen to join the Provincial and Regional Skills Competition in 2011, in which he bagged gold medals. Moving up, he participated at the Philippine National Skills Competition, where he became the champion and the National Awardee during the National Search for TESDA Idol 2015.

With the awards and recognition, he became a well-reputed technician in his community. Using the prizes he won, he was able to put up his own automotive repair shop which caters Automotive Servicing graduates and/ oJTs at Roma Sur, Enrile, Cagayan. His work speaks for itself that makes his customers keep coming back. True enough, his shop has helped his family in many ways such as providing household needs as well as in assisting his parents in sending his siblings to school. He also gave a land to the church and bought some properties (trucks, house and lot) for his family.

His ceaseless faith in God has given him the prestigious rewards to reach for his dreams no matter how dirty his hands are in working just to earn for a living.

Indeed, more than education, TESDA is giving an opportunity to each graduates to experience how their life would be transformed with their programs. He learned that some things can’t be achieved instantly, but there are many ways to get to your goal.
