Aparri, Cagayan – March 19, 2025 – The Aparri Polytechnic Institute (API) successfully conducted a Capability Program on Developing, Writing, and Maintaining a Quality Manual today, March 19, 2025, as part of its ongoing Staff Development Program. The training was facilitated by Amanda Elleni S. Lacambra, Quality Management System (QMS) Focal Person, and Estella Mari G. Viloria, QMS Team Member.
The program aimed to equip API staff with the necessary skills to develop, implement, and maintain a Quality Manual aligned with institutional goals and quality standards. Key topics discussed included: Understanding the Role of a Quality Manual – Highlighting its importance in ensuring consistency and efficiency within the institution; Steps in Developing and Writing a Quality Manual – Providing a systematic approach to documenting policies, processes, and procedures; and Maintaining and Updating the Manual – Emphasizing strategies for continuous improvement and compliance with quality standards.
During his opening remarks, Vocational School Administrator III, Francisco Gringo Tagabi, quoted Aristotle’s famous words: “Quality is not an act but a habit.” He emphasized that achieving excellence requires a consistent and continuous commitment from his administration to improve standards and processes. He highlighted that quality is not merely a one-time effort but a practice of consistently doing the right things, in the right way, and for the right purpose.
Participants actively engaged in interactive discussions, hands-on exercises, and workshop, enhancing their understanding of quality management processes. Ms. Lacambra stressed the importance of aligning the Quality Manual with API’s objectives, while Ms. Viloria provided valuable insights on best practices for maintaining documentation and ensuring quality compliance.
This initiative is part of API’s ongoing efforts to strengthen staff competencies and maintain excellence in service delivery.
