Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Marine Battalion Landing Team 10 (MBLT10), Philippine Navy have held a Joint Closing Ceremony for uniformed personnel who have completed their skills trainings last July 6, 2022 at the Philippine Marine Corps Headquarters, MBLT10 in San Vicente, Sta Ana, Cagayan.
52 uniformed personnel were trained by the agency in various qualifications. Of the said uniformed personnel, 25 were trained in Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) NC II conducted by the Aparri Polytechnic Institute, 17 were completers of Basic Barista training and 10 in Basic Bartending which were both conducted by the Isabela School of Arts and Trades (ISAT).
Regional Director Archie A. Grande, CESO III, was the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the said Ceremony.
In his Keynote Message, RD Grande emphasized the crucial role of uniformed personnel in boosting the agency’s training efforts for the Indigenous Peoples (IPs), and residents of underserved and conflict-vulnerable communities including those Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs).
RD Grande said that the strengthened partnership with uniformed personnel will put into fruition the agency’s TESDA Abot Lahat guiding principle.
“TESDA Region II and MBLT 10’s joint efforts for the upskilling of its uniformed personnel will put into fruition, our goal to be of service to our kababayans most especially those who are most in need of our skills training services.”
He added that trained personnel will be tapped to conduct trainings in these areas.
“Our uniformed personnel will be tapped to boost skills training efforts and conduct trainings in far-flung barangays, a noble act for our country and our countrymen who depend so much on us in order for them to improve their quality of life”, he added.
The regional head also encouraged the completers to make meaningful use of the trainings they have acquired from TESDA.
“May the learnings and skills you gained from your trainings inspire and motivate you to work towards ensuring economic growth of the country through the skills development of the citizens.”
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Julius T. Yncierto, MBLT10’s Commanding Officer also expressed gratitude to TESDA for the upskilling of his personnel. He said that they will continue to work with TESDA for the welfare of the people in the Valley.
It can be noted that TESDA and MBLT10 have been actively involved in the skills development of the Cagayanos such as the trainings conducted for the residents of Fuga Island, an island barangay in Aparri, Cagayan which is located at the northernmost part of Luzon.
Also present during the event were Provincial Director Romeo O. Talosig, ISAT Superintendent Edwin P. Madarang, API Administrator Renato D. Ubiña and trainers and personnel from the said institutions.
