TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Jan. 22 (PIA) – – Trainees of Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) in region 2 produced face masks and baked breads for the evacuees of Taal Volcano eruption in Batangas.

TESDA Acting Regional Director Demetrio P. Anduyan, Jr. said there were six training institutions contributed to their effort in providing assistance to the victims.

“The face masks were sewn by our Dressmaking NC II trainees while cookies and muffins were baked by our Bread and Pastry Production NC II enrollees,” he said.

Anduyan added that in response to the directive of Secretary Isidro Lapeña, calling all TESDA regional offices to extend assistance to the victims of the volcano eruption, Cagayan Valley team has already deployed the “TESDA Dos Taal Mission” to deliver the goods as well as to bring cash assistance for the evacuees.

He said that continuing assistance, especially food and other basic items, is needed considering the prolonged stay of the evacuees in various evacuation centers with the continuous activities of the volcano. (ALM/BME/OTB/PIA-Cagayan)
