TESDA-API traditionally celebrates the National Women’s Month with month-long activities in order to inculcate to the employees and learners of this institute the values and morals that all genders are equal and that all sexes should be empowered.
TESDA-Aparri Polytechnic Institute started its month-long celebration with a kick-off, a women themed Zumba activity for every Friday for the whole month of March. This activity aims to help the employees and learners be physically active and healthy.
The institute conducted a series of training in Napkin Folding, Table Skirting, and Table Setting to the female locals of Brgy. Ziminila, Camalaniugan, Cagayan. The short-term program was conducted by FBS NC II Trainer, Ms. Eva M. Racho.
In partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry Negosyo Center-Aparri through Ms. Delilah R. Amit, Junior Business Counselor, conducted a Seminar on Basic Entrepreneurship collaboration to aspiring women entrepreneurs. The program intended to empower fifty-four (54) participants to create value through entrepreneurship.
Skills training is also provided to TESDA-API employees in order to invigorate and empower both female and male employees. Women employees attended Basic Driving Lessons from Sir Mark Anthony A. Romina, Driving NC II trainer at the same time Male employees attended Lessons in Bread Making from Ma’am Luvies C. Ormilla, Bread and Pastry Production NC II trainer. This activity is intended to appreciate the morals of gender roles in the society; that there are no specific roles for a certain task.
The bread baked by the male employees of the institute were given to the orphanage run by the Carmelite Sisters in Maura, Aparri, Cagayan. As seen in the photo, Robert C. Revilla, PhD along Mr. Erick C. Malicad, Ms. Eva M. Racho and Ms. Alma C. Diaros represented the insititute to deliver the baked goods to the sisters
Mr. Waren A. Rabe, trainer in Organic Agriculture Production NC II gave out free organic produce for women employees of API.
The activity was wrapped up by a Culminating Program packed with events and activities were held on March 30, 2023. A guest speaker in the person of Ms. Daisy A. Rallos was invited to talk about her Success Story and empower our learners and inspire them to be successful graduates in the future.
